This project explores the concept of a future city that thrives as a biodiverse ecosystem, where urban spaces are full of humans and wildlife. My vision focuses on integrating nature with urban life, creating connected pollinator wildlife networks and spaces that offer opportunity for play, and different immersive experiences for both humans and urban wildlife.
In the first phase, we were tasked with designing a city using one- and two-point perspective visualizations, overlaid onto site photography of the eastern portion of the Arbutus Greenway in Vancouver. My ideas brought the city of the future to life, imagining how nature and urban elements can coexist and flourish together, which was further brought to life through collage and animation.
The second phase involved refining our designs by applying individual principles of the City of the Future to a more detailed 3D model of Arrowdale Park in Brantford, Ontario. Using rendered perspectives, we reimagined the park’s potential as an integral part of this biodiverse, future urban landscape. This project merges creativity, environmental stewardship, and urban design to envision a city where nature and urban development foster placemaking, sustainability and vibrant urban living.
